What I do is enable positive change. I work with groups and individuals to develop leadership skills and talent. I have been doing this with a range of public and private sector organisations for the past 25 years and I can safely say that every day is different and presents a fresh challenge. I love my job for this very reason.
Why do I love my job? I love helping organisations achieve their business objective, whether that means supporting the development of their leaders or focussing on a team’s wellbeing. For me the combination of a clear strategy and having the confidence and communication skills to deliver it go two go hand-in-hand. I have seen many examples of people making different choices as a result of developing their core skills and awareness that have led to success for them and their organisation.
Who I work with is key. Miradorus’ ethos and approach is a very good match with my own. It’s important for me to work with colleagues who share my values and principles. I also appreciate working with colleagues who are the best in their field as I can confidently grow my own professional practice with them. From a client perspective I have had the privilege of working with leaders at all organisational levels from operations to the Board Room.
How do I do it? By understanding clients’ needs and having a clearly defined outcome. It’s about providing the right balance of both support and challenge to help people and organisations achieve their vision of success. It’s a complicated world both for leaders and their teams so helping them focus is critical.
Where am I going? I am lucky enough to be in a role, which absolutely suits me down to the ground. Every single day is different and I love to learn.
